I, Twyla Lapointe (previously Toews), am pleased to offer you my photographic and design services under the banner of Admire Studios.

I come from a family whose members all have their own particular kind of artistic flair and I am no exception. I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts honours degree with Distinction from the U of S in 2009. My portfolio has grown at a fast pace since 2007, when I began working in a professional capacity part time while in University. My photographic style is very personalized, and I am a bit of a chameleon when it comes to abilities in copying styles for both photography and design.

Instead of subscribing to the idea that all persons must support themselves through one highly specialized occupation, it has been my experience that some fields are interconnected and have a great deal of overlap between them. This is why I maintain a business of both photography and design.I have several mentors in the area of photography. I have taken a class from Scott Robert Lim, a world-class and award winning photographer, and I have many years of design experience. I maintain a commitment to developing a world-class studio and keeping up with both current and classic methods.

PHOTOGRAPHY

Are you looking for a photographer? I am just as interested in the technical aspects of photography - design principles and equipment - as I am in the people with whom I work. I strive to make my business customer-friendly. I have many years of experience in event photography ranging from sports to weddings, and I am interested in expanding my business in family photography, mostly working in people's homes or outdoors. I, like many people, find studio photography to be questionable in value, impersonal, and often not visually pleasing. As a society, images are our memory, and I don't think we should be capturing memories at big box stores or in a little cubbyhole with artificial lighting.

GRAPHIC DESIGN

Are you looking for a designer? I am a high-achieving computer lover, a designer and artist at heart. I come to this job with a personal interest in marketing and an education and experience that can give your project in web or graphic design a unique and eye-catching style. I am myself flamboyant in my designs and like bold colors, but in a design capacity I am a great copy artist - if you show me what you want I can create it, if you don't know what you're looking for I will have a dozen ideas for you within the hour. All of these things make me an excellent choice as a designer.
