I’ve had the chance of working with quite a few musicians, and it’s always such a creative process to talk with them about what it is they want to portray and how they want to look. This shoot was so interesting because there were some very serious and some very silly photos—lots of range and contrast. We worked with two completely separate ideas in the same short amount of time, which was awesome. This artist has a really cool personal style and it was fun to capture that for her and show her off, let her personality come out. I also really enjoyed taking photos of her with her guitar—I’ve always found guitars really beautiful (all instruments are, but to me, guitars especially) and it was great to incorporate that in the shoot.
